TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson has hit out at Meghan Markle for “ditching her femininist principles” after her latest interview.
Meghan claimed she felt like her appearance was focused on rather than her personality whilst she was working as a “briefcase girl” on Deal or No Deal in 2006 and 2007.
Writing for her column on The Sun, Ulrika claimed Meghan didn’t object to how she was represented at the time as she wanted the job.

She wrote: “She was quite willing to forgo any of the strongly held fundamentals she had at the time for the sake of furthering her career.
“I wish she would stop talking as if it’s a feminist issue… saying starting out in a role that isn’t testing your IQ means you’re selling yourself short.”
Ulrika branded Meghan’s comments “galling”, and asked why she didn’t object at the time as she wanted to grab the chance she was given.
Meghan claimed that behind the scenes on the hit game show, she and the rest of the women were told to put in hair extensions, wear false eyelashes and a push up bra for the cameras.
She also claimed they were given a voucher for fake tanning every week to fit in to a “cookie cutter idea” of what they should look like.
Meghan said she quit the show as she didn’t “like the way it made her feel” and she didn’t like being reduced to “just looks”.
Opening up to Paris Hilton on her podcast Archetypes, Meghan said she hoped that her daughter Lilibet would “aspire to be slightly higher,” and that she would be valued her brains rather than her looks.
Meghan’s claims were refuted by her former co-star Claudia Jordan, who said the women were chosen for their outspoken personalities, and Meghan’s memories of the show did not match her own.
