Amanda Holden issues dire warning to fans as she’s targeted in cruel internet scam

Amanda Holden has been targeted in an internet scam.

A fake account on Instagram pretended to be the Britain’s Got Talent judge, 52.

The account posed as the star’s “back up” page and racked up more than 250 followers.

It’s claimed the con involved messaging some of her fans in a bid to get them to send money.

After Amanda was alerted about the scam, she became so concerned she issued a warning to her followers.

In a post on her Instagram account, she said: “This is a scam account block it. Several followers have been asked for money.”

She added: “Why do people do it?”

Amanda is the latest star to be targeted by online scammers.

She also shared a screenshot of the fake account, which said in the bio: “Amanda Holden back up page.”

The account was set to private, following 257. “Why do people do it?” Amanda asked. The scam account had 62 followers and the handle @noholdenback67.

Photos of Martin Lewis, Holly Willoughby and Dawn French have all been used in fake adverts they did not approve.

Typing alongside the image of the account, Holly said: “Please don’t be fooled by this…” as she revealed someone had set up a fake account in her name.

The latest scam comes ahead of Amanda’s new Sky History show launched, exploring the history of sex. “My new series with @d_a_n_jones… #SexABonkersHistory coming to @historyuk soon,” the mum-of-two BGT star wrote alongside a snap of herself wearing lingerie.

Denise Welch replied: “Outrageous!! You’re a wife and mother and over 45. Shocking I say.”
