Clive appeared on ITV show Lorraine to set the record straight

The Channel 5 star said he was appearing on the show to set the record straight as he said he had a “massive part to play” in the split.

He said: “All I am hearing is poor Clive which is not right.

“We had this plan to make it more secure as a family so that’s what drove her, it was amazing and successful.

“I handled it very badly, it was such a change in our life and I sadly made a right mess of things and I had a massive part to play in our relationship ending, a massive part to play.”

Christine asked if the Channel 5 show had driven a wedge between the pair

He added: “When all this went on, I am ranting and raving and drinking and carrying on and there was jealousy, it was taking her away, but it wasn’t really, she was committed to our family but it seemed to eat away at me and I behaved badly towards her.

“I should have been supportive and I was the completely opposite.”

As Christine asked if he thought the show had created a wedge between them: “Yes, [the show created a wedge] and once it comes between you… we were under pressure and it was crazy and it makes you look at life in a different way.
