BBC Breakfast fans fumed at Naga Munchetty’s approach to interviewing the Chair of Water UK.
On Thursday (May 18), the UK woke up to the news that raw sewage has been repeatedly spilled directly into seas and rivers.
Sat alongside regular co-host Charlie Stayt for the first time this week, the 48-year-old revealed Water UK has apologised on behalf of companies across England for not doing enough to tackle the problem.

The company have claimed to invest £10billion over the next decade to put things right and contain public anger towards the issue.
Naga and Charlie, 60, welcomed Ruth Kelly into the studio to discuss the major problem.
The former MP revealed the water industries “want to be held to account” for the sewage spillages across the country.
She continued: “Later this summer, we’ll publish a specific investment plan that will look overflow by overflow, all 15,000 across the country and say what investment is likely to take place and when it’s likely to take place.”
This is to ensure the public will have “real confidence” in the investment making a difference.
Naga fired several questions at the 55-year-old which resulted in the two women repeatedly talking over each other.
Several fans weren’t keen on Naga’s approach and took to social media to share their thoughts.
“Naga not letting the water lady finish speaking is incredibly annoying #BBCBreakfast,” wrote one viewer.
A second person added: “I’m as angry as the next person at the behaviour of the water companies however Naga’s constant ‘gotcha’ approach here is falling flat on its face.”
“Wow. Not sure I’ve seen an interview where two people are talking over each other quite so much! I’m assuming this woman used to be a Tory MP?,” shared another fan.
While others fumed at the former politician, claiming everything she was saying amounted to “rubbish”.
One fan wrote: “Nags asking which rivers might be clean in a year & the Chair of Water UK only hopes all of them. No specifics- no accountability for water companies As good as said the public just need to put up and shut up! #BBCBreakfast.”
“#BBCBreakfast Get her off, it’s rubbish. Spouting facts figures, not credible,” penned a second as a third fan tweeted: “Blimey, water representative comes across with all the credibility of a Tory MP.”
While another raged: “Almost as good at talking shite as they are at dumping it. Painful interview.”
