BBC Breakfast host left red-faced after wardrobe blunder but say fans will ‘love it’

BBC Breakfast host Jon Kay was left embarrassed after a TV guest pointed out a wardrobe blunder.

On Tuesday (November 7), Jordan North and William Hanson joined hosts Jon and Sally Nugent on the show to promote their new book about etiquette. Though Jordan stitched his podcast co-host up by revealing he had noticed an issue with Jon’s outfit.

To which William then confessed that he had noticed a problem with Jon’s socks. Jordan said: “William noticed a bit of a faux pas with one of you this morning.

“Like as soon as we walked in and we saw you on the telly, he said ‘Jon’s socks are a bit loose’.” William then added: “I only know this because last time I did Breakfast, Charlie and I had a whole discussion off-air about the correct length of socks.

While blushing, Jon said: “I bet Charlie got it right, didn’t he?” William added: “He had the problem too.”

Jordan laughed: “He is showing a bit of leg for the nans.” Jon then chuckled: “The nans love that.”

William then suggested: “Or you could wear sock garters – those things that go around your legs, they’re like braces for the gap.” But Jon batted off the idea and said he would never consider them, despite William offering to buy him a pair.

The pair’s new book titled Help I Sexted My Boss is said to help navigate readers through wacky life problems, and Jordan went on to tell a horrific tale.

Jordan said: “There was one person that was messaging somebody on an online dating app and shared certain intimate pictures and then it turned out to be their dad.”

Will added: “Which was unfortunate and if you’re gonna have an anonymous profile, which suggests that there is a central risk that’s going to happen. But of course, when all these etiquette books, traditional books, dating was you know, going out to a restaurant, potentially some of the books the lady didn’t pay goes back to the time when women didn’t carry any form of money when they left the house.

“Life is very different now. And again, in the book, that’s the sort of topics that some of them may be alarming, but they’re not all that alarming. But that’s those are the areas that we wanted to talk about
