Carol Kirkwood hit back at Charlie Stayt on BBC Breakfast when he mocked her weather segment on Thursday morning (August 31).
Forecaster Carol was just about to tell BBC viewers what kind of weather conditions they could expect from the day when host Charlie decided to have a pop at her job.
Charlie, who was hosting with Naga Munchetty, was clearly feeling brave as he suggested he couldn’t understand why everybody cared so much about the weather.

He pretended to be irritated as he introduced Carol’s segment, announcing: “11 minutes-past-seven. Why not have a look at the weather?”
He jokingly complained: “Everyone always wants to know about the weather, Carol…”
Carol bit back, replying: “Certainly do, Charlie, and that’s a good thing. It keeps me in a job.”
The meteorologist recently defended herself against Naga, too, during a cheeky exchange on the show.
The Scottish star said the hotter temperatures could make a comeback at the end of next week as Naga responded: “Is that a promise?”
“No, of course it’s not,” replied Carol. “You know me better than that!”
Later on, Naga was back to her old tricks as she reintroduced Carol to viewers for her next weather report.
“Good morning, Carol. Now, you’ve predicted a heatwave at the end of next week..Did you see Carol’s eye widen then?,” Naga laughed as she tapped Charlie on the arm.
“Absolute nonsense!,” Carol could be heard saying in the background.

Teasing her, Naga said: “Well they’re probably narrowed. She’s cross! So, heatwave next week and not a drop of rain this weekend, yes?”
Carol burst out laughing as she fired back: “Only in your dreams Naga because sadly that is wrong!”
