BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty kicked her co-star Charlie Stayt on air.
On Thursday’s episode (June 15), the BBC studio was having technical issues and the camera kept panning back to the hosts when it wasn’t supposed to.
This happened a few times throughout the episode, but also during an interview with Barrister Victoria Butler-Cole.
Presenter Naga and Victoria were discussing families with disabled children having issues with trust funds, when it panned back to the studio to a pair of unprepared hosts.
As Victoria was talking about the topic, Charlie looked bored and read through the day’s paper as she chatted with Naga.
He clearly didn’t expect the camera to be on him at that moment, but Naga soon realised and kicked him to get his attention.
However, Charlie remained none the wiser and continued to carry on reading the news before the shot went back to Victoria talking.
Things didn’t go a miss with BBC viewers who took to Twitter to revel in the moment.
One wrote: “Good stealth kick from Naga on Charlie here @BBCBreakfast having some camera issues today!”
A second added: “Not so sneaky kick Naga.”
While a third commented: “Charlie getting booted by Naga for reading the paper.”
“@BBCBreakfast having a bit of a technical nightmare this morning, but the best bit so far this morning is @TVNaga01 trying to nudge /kick Charlie with her foot to let him know they’re back on,” a fourth posted.
More fans carried on the discussion online and they seemingly found the moment hilarious.
A fifth put: “Love the kick to alert Charlie, funny.”
“See Charlie not paying attention then and a little kick to get it back,” a sixth shared.
