Britain’s Got Talent fans have revealed the truth behind Susan Boyle’s iconic audition, which viewers didn’t get to see at home.
Stunned audience members have claimed the I Dreamed A Dream audition was partly “staged” by the judges.
The performance, which took place in 2009, left the nation speechless as jaws dropped during her stunning rendition.

Boyle came runner-up to Diversity and became a household name in the UK.
But fans have since come forward to say the experience wasn’t as smooth sailing as it seemed.
The official sub-Reddit for BGT reposted the star’s legendary audition to mark the 14th anniversary on April 11.
One Reddit user claimed: “Me and my aunt went to this filming.”
They added that the judges asked Boyle “so many other questions beforehand to make her look like an idiot”.
According to the spectators, this was done to help “market her so well”.
They continued: “They asked if she knew Britney Spears, and other famous people, got the crowd so hyped up (because they obviously knew something big was coming) and it made it all the more spectacular when she sang like that.”
The claim was backed up by other users who branded the audition as “one of the saddest moments on entertainment TV”.
Another person said: “I remember people really playing up how horrible looking and ugly she was.”
They said the show marketed her so well that it was “such a surprise she had such a beautiful voice”.
Whilst many people look back at the audition in awe, others said the lead up to her performance was “demeaning”.
Another user commented: “Never understood this. She’s pretty quirky but people are mainly judging her for her looks.
“What does conventional outer beauty have to do with vocal cords at all?? Everyone assumed unattractive = can’t sing?”
