Big Brother star spots housemate ‘fake crying’ as he acts up for ’embarrassing’ scene

Big Brother’s Matty has been spotted “fake crying” and branded “embarrassing” by an ex-housemate.

Daily Star columnist Nicola McLean opened up about her thoughts on the lineup and who was acting up for the cameras this week. Nicola raised the point she thought he was being “fake” when the housemates were involved in the intruder task.

The contestants’ loved ones entered the house during the task – and the TV stars had to choose who was allowed in. However, Matty was left seemingly devastated when his boyfriend wasn’t chosen to enter over Yinrun’s boyfriend.

Nicola exclusively said: “I loved it when they did the intruder task. They didn’t pick Matthew’s boyfriend because it was a video call and he was so dramatic. I mean, it was awful.

“It was embarrassing to watch. Man up, they had to make a decision. It was such over-the-top crying, wailing, I cry, but you know, there’s crying and then there’s screaming on the floor. I can’t be asked for that.

“I also noticed that there wasn’t a single tear when he was crying – which makes me think it was fake. Yeah, it wasn’t a good look was it?”

“Trish was so kind though, with the way she handled it, she seemed like Vanessa Feltz or Trisha Gooderm. She was just brilliant. She handled the situation so well.”

ITV viewers also noticed Matty not shedding a tear during his emotional outburst and took to X to comment. One said: “Not one drop of eye water actually left Matty’s eyes.”

A second added: “Matty screaming like a wailing banshee but not one teardrop, I can’t.” While a third penned: “Matty tears evaporated???? I’m crying.”

Though at the time, Matty quickly stopped crying when he realised his boyfriend was there only via video link and not in person. Fans also pointed this out as they said he stopped withing seconds and soon started laughing.

One fan posted: “NAHHHHH that was Oscar-worthy from Matty, pure Eastenders drama for him to switch off the tears at the drop of a hat. Death by cringing.”

Big Brother airs Sunday to Thursday on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm followed by Big Brother Late & Live at 10pm
