Sunday Brunch seemed to turn into a game of Guess Who after fans struggled to identify hitmaker Emeli Sandé among other panel members on the Channel 4 foodie programme.
Many viewers had taken to their keyboards initially questioning the celebrities on the show but later returned to X gobsmacked after realising soul singer Emeli had been present but wasn’t “recognisable” after “changing a lot” since her blonde-haired quiff days.
The Read All About It chart topper had ditched her famous platinum locks opting for beautiful natural-afro textured hair and a flamboyant red, black and green patterned jacket, teamed with gold hooped earrings.

Sunday Brunch hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer were joined by Suggs, Seann Walsh, Emeli Sandé, Louise Brealey and Billy Porter on Sunday (19 November) for a brand new episode.
Having failed to pinpoint the star initially, stunned fans took to the X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on Emili’s new look, one person penned: “Emeli Sandè has changed! wow,” another agreed: “Wow, Emili Sandé looks unrecognisable. #SundayBrunch.”
“Emeli Sandé has changed a lot since last time I saw her. She even sounds different. Must be nice to reinvent yourself. I might give it a go. #SundayBrunch,” chimed a third person who was clearly inspired by her transformation.
The songwriter shot to fame back in 2009 on Chipmunk’s ‘Diamond Rings’ but started releasing her own music over a decade ago with her debut album, Our Version of Events’ quickly becoming became the best selling album of 2012 in the UK.
Following such huge success, Emeli seemed to slip off of the radar for some time after she’d rocketed to stardom taking Centre stage at the 2012 Olympics and then scooping up Best British Female Solo Artist and British Album of the Year at the Brits Awards in 2013.
This left the star feeling like she just “wanted to disappear” and she seemed to do just that for three years until she returned to the Showbiz scene in 2016 explaining that she had to tuck herself away in order to create her second album.
Speaking to The Mirror at the time she said: “It sounds a bit dramatic but I just wanted to disappear. I just had this overwhelming sensation and the realisation everything had to stop.
“And then, slowly, it did. The label let me go and be a hermit for three years and trusted me to put together music that was important for me. I felt I had to slow everything down.”She went on: “I wanted stuff to write about and I wanted to really experience things on a deep level.
“I wanted to go back to the way I made the first album, not thinking about any anticipation, just focusing on if this is good music or not.”
Sunday Brunch airs on Channel 4 at 9.30pm
