Tim was involved in a huge showdown with Elaine’s murderous husband after they discovered life insurance files Stephen had created in their names in a little red box.

But after Stephen threatened him, Tim pinned him up against the wall, prompting Stephen to knock his head on the staircase and later collapse outside.

And Tim has now been arrested for GBH after CCTV footage caught him leaving the flat.

So, as things kick off this week on the soap for the much-loved family, Daily Star is taking a look inside the the star’s lives.

Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox)

Paula was hit with an enormous tragedy when her husband sadly died just ten years into their marriage.

She was married to fellow actor Derek Seaton from 1969 until his death in 1979.

Despite his early age, Derek died of a brain haemorrhage at the age of just 35 when Paula was just 29.

Many may not know that before his death, Paula’s first husband Derek Seaton had a very successful acting career of his own.

Fans many also remember him from his appearance in Coronation Street in June 1975 as crooked salesman Les Buckley.

Paula went on to marry Nelson “Skip” Riddle 12 years later in 1991 who also has a claim to fame.

The American businessman is the eldest son of the composer, bandleader and arranger Nelson Smock Riddle.

Nelson worked with many world-famous vocalists at Capitol Records, including Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Judy Garland and Dean Martin.

Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King)

Shelley made her Corrie debut in 2014

Before appearing on Coronation Street in 2014, Shelley already had a hugely successful acting career dating all the way back to the seventies.

She is currently in a civil partnership with actress and director Trilby James – who has starred in programmes including Poirot and Casualty.

Though Shelley has not revealed how the couple met, she has said in an essay for Metro in 2021 that after meeting Trilby, she decided to come out as gay at the age of 42.

Talking about her own experience of coming out, she said: “I want to tell other people considering coming out to never be afraid of who you are.”

She explained that growing up, not seeing lesbians represented in the media was damaging and that the in the 70s, “nothing I stumbled across seemed to have a happy ending.”

Shelley added that working in the industry growing as a young adult she had “self-destructive crushes on women who would never return the feelings,” and that although she tried to have relationships with men, she “had no emotional connection and it only ended up hurting them.”

Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor)

Back in 2009, Sally was diagnosed with breast cancer while her TV character was battling the same deadly disease.

While she was filming the emotional scenes, Sally promptly made an appointment to the doctors after she spotted a small lump on her breast which she later learned was cancer.

She went on to take a break from the Cobbles to undergo the much-needed surgery and chemotherapy needed to tackle the disease and thankfully came through cancer free.

Throughout her relationship with hubby Tim the pair have gone on to welcome three children.

And one of them has already gone on to follow in their family’s footsteps and become a global star.

Their eldest child is 28-year-old actress Phoebe Dynevor who catapulted to fame back in 2020 when she starred as the leading lady in Netflix’s hit period drama Bridgerton.

Since joining Coronation Street in 2013, Tim Metcalfe has been through many ups and downs, but in real life, actor Joe Duttine’s life is far less dramatic.

While they both might be married to other Weatherfield residents on screen, in real life, Coronation Street stars Joe Duttine and Sally Carman, who plays Abi Franklin, are married too.

The couple have been together for five years since meeting on the set of the show in 2018, and in 2020 the pair confirmed their engagement.

When they were planning the wedding, Sally told the Mirror: “I’m obsessed with Christmas, so when Joe said: ‘What’s your favourite time, when would you most like to do it?’ it had to be Christmas.”

However, due to extended pandemic induced restrictions the wedding was placed on hold

Fast forward to July last year and the couple finally tied the knot at a lavish wedding ceremony.

Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew)

Ian played baddie Geoff on the soap

During his stint on Corrie, Ian had viewers on the edge of their seats playing soap monster Geoff – who eventually met his match and was killed off in 2020.

But it seems at the time, Ian thought of himself as the most hated man in Britain following his portrayal of Geoff.

Shelley King, who played Geoff’s abused wife Yasmeen, told OK! Magazine: “He’s told me he is the most hated man in the entire country.

“He sometimes stays with me as he lives away, and he said he wouldn’t go out in MediaCity unless I was with him. When we’re out walking, people wind down their car window and shout, ‘Leave him!’”

Away from the cobbles though, Ian is married to theatre director Loveday Ingram and they share two children together, who were born in 2005 and 2007.

But due to his difficult and harrowing storyline, Ian admitted in the past that his wife and Lisa can’t actually to watch him on screen.

“They started to watch Coronation Street and when dad started to turn nasty, they said ‘No, can’t watch it now, dad’,” he told What’s On TV.

“And I quite understand that. They know it’s not really dad, but they don’t want to see somebody who looks like dad being horrible.”

Faye Windass (Ellie Leach)

Ellie was just 10 years old when she appeared on Corrie for the first time – playing Faye Windass.

Her cousin, Brooke Vincent, was also already starring in the hit soap as Sophie Webster and had been for five years when Ellie was cast.

However earlier this year, the soap star walked away from the show after 12 years playing Faye.

And just a few months later, it was claimed that that Ellie is set to be strutting her stuff on the 2023 series of Strictly Come Dancing.

As for her love life, Ellie was in a relationship with her long-term beau Reagan Pettman from 2018 to 2023.

In May, a source told The Sun: “Ellie has the world at her feet after stepping away from Corrie and she has taken time to reflect on which direction her life is going in.

“Ellie and Reagan decided to call things a day and she is making the most of her single status.”
