EastEnders actress supported by co-stars as she declares ‘it’s been a privilege’

EastEnders star Emma Barton has been praised by her co-stars for her performance as Honey Mitchell said goodbye to Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold).

During Wednesday’s instalment of the BBC soap, viewers were devastated as they watched Lola pass away from a brain tumour after being diagnosed last year.

In the build up to Lola’s final moments, her loved ones appeared at her bedside to say their final goodbyes.

As Honey sat in front her dying friend, she whispered: “I just wanted to say that I think you are absolutely brilliant and it has been the biggest honour being your friend”.

After the episode aired, Emma took to Instagram to pay tribute to Danielle and credit the storyline, declaring that it’s been a “privilege” to have been a part of.

Alongside a photo of Honey with the words “It’s been the biggest honour being your friend” written above it, the 45-year-old shared in the caption: “& it really has. So proud of you @danielle_harold.”

Emma, who has portrayed the role of Honey since 2005, continued: “This has been a very precious storyline , one that I feel very privileged to have been a part of..

“Sharing the screen with the very best… my gorgeous colleagues & friends. Special mention our incredible writer @kleelauren & our wonderful director Karl Neilson…”

The actress signed of the post by saying: “All perfectly fitting together to tell this heartbreaking story…”

Emma’s fans rushed to the comments to praise her on the performance, including many of her co-stars.

Ash Panesar actress Gurlaine Kaur Garcha penned: “You were amazing emma. so heartbreaking”.

“You were amazing!!!!!!!” exclaimed Lorraine Stanley who has starred as Karen Taylor since 2017.

While Patsy Kensit, who appeared on the soap for a brief stint as Lola’s mum, added a row of clapping emojis.
