EastEnders Christian star unrecognisable with shaved head seven years after exit

EastEnders star John Partridge looked completely different to his soap days as he gave fans a first look at his upcoming role.

The actor, 51, is best known for playing Christian Clarke, the brother of Jane Beale, on the BBC soap from 2008 until 2016.

Making the move to Hollywood, the former soap star is set to star in the Netflix documentary series Queen Cleopatra which features Jada Pinkett Smith as executive producer.

The Celebrity Big Brother star looked worlds away from the role that made him famous as he sported a blonde buzz cut along with bleached eyebrows.

John revealed in the caption that he is “absolutely buzzed” to be a part of the series which drops on the streaming platform in May.

After sharing the news, several of John’s famous pals raced to the comments to share their excitement over his new project.

Danniella Westbrook, best known for portraying Sam Mitchell on EastEnders gushed: “So very proud of you Jonny your special so special.”

Brookside legend Claire Sweeney, who was recently revealed to be joining the cast of Coronation Street, added: “Oh yes dear,” followed by a row of clapping emojis.

Ex-Dancing on Ice judge Jason Gardiner commented: ” Popcorn at the ready! Congrats baby! So excited for you!”

John became a much-loved member of the EastEnders cast during his time on the BBC soap, largely down to Christian’s relationship with Syed Masood (Marc Elliot).

During an appearance on Loose Women, the actor revealed he wouldn’t rule out a return in the future.

“Listen I’m a jobbing actor, I say yes an awful lot. I never say never to anything. I’m happy where I am right now but who knows,” he told the panel. “Christian might get sick of Birmingham and he might come back, you never know.”
