Emmerdale fans have speculated that Cain is hiding a dark secret about his past regarding his half-brother, Caleb.
Viewers have been wracking their brains over Caleb’s true motives since he arrived on Christmas Day and reunited with his long lost siblings after several years.
Certain he has a hidden agenda, fans have theorised that he could have hidden ties to dodgy village residents, while others have speculated that he is out for revenge or even an undercover cop.

Also wary of Caleb is Cain, who has been less than welcoming to his brother since he walked back into his life.
And fans have now speculated that Cain’s hostile behaviour towards Caleb may be down to a hidden secret that lies within their past.
In a flashback episode which aired in December, fans discovered that Faith gave birth to Caleb in prison before putting him into foster care.
Cain turned his back on his brother when he eventually tracked him down, leading to Caleb jumping into one of the cars in the garage and crashing it.
Later on in the episode, Cain took the blame for Caleb before ordering him to stay well away from his family.
Speculating why Cain continues to hold a grudge against his brother, one Reddit user came to the conclusion that the answer lies within their past.

The user theorised: “Seriously, given the circumstances, Caleb should be the one holding a grudge against him considering Cain lied to him that his mother was dead thus robbing him of a chance to get to know his family for years and years.
“And since he’s been back he’s just been helping the family by getting Kyle to own up thus getting Cain out of prison and getting them professional lawyers and yet Cain has this seething hatred for him for honestly no good reason.
They added: “It can’t be about the stolen car thing considering he chose to take the blame and it was also over three decades ago.

“Is there going to be some kind of reveal that something else happened in their past that we don’t know about which explains why he hates Caleb so much?”
But while some agreed, others believe it’s simply Cain’s stubborn personality that has made him behave like this.
“He’s always been a stubborn git that likes to hold a grudge. Caleb put a dent in Cain’s pride by getting Kyle to tell the truth, even if it was unintentional,” speculated one viewer.
A second agreed: “Exactly like Cain hates everyone lol esp people who he doesn’t trust/cross him etc”.
