Emmerdale is set for even more wedding drama after Charity and Mackenzie’s nuptials – and a familiar face is on their way back to the village.
Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) are gearing up for their wedding in the ITV soap, but executive producer Jane Hudson has promised even more drama to come.
Speaking to Daily Star and other press this week, Jane said: “There is another wedding, at least one, coming up before we get to the end of summer.

“And we’ll have a familiar face returning, which I think the audience will be absolutely delighted with.”
Fans are sure to be speculating about who could be making their way back for a big return.
But it sounds like they’ll be involved in plenty of drama, as Jane said they would be back “hopefully for the foreseeable” future.
While the identity of the couple set to tie the knot has not been revealed, it looks like it won’t be Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) and Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope).
Gabby has completely fallen for the nanny, but she is unaware of his true motives.
New spoilers have hinted that she may begin to question his intentions in upcoming scenes, and might even call off their engagement.
Viewers know Nicky’s father is actually Caleb Milligan (William Ash) and they are working together to take down Kim Tate (Claire King) and claim Home Farm, as Caleb is the secret son of Frank Tate.
Gabby will begin to question things with Nicky when it seems he wants to rush through with their wedding plans.
Nicky has told Caleb he has no feelings for Gabby in reality, but will he be able to convince her he does?
Speaking of other upcoming storylines, Jane went on: “We’ve got a more lighthearted story with Liam.
“There’s going to be something that will take you all by surprise.
“It starts off quite a fun story but at the heart of it, there is something serious that will come out later down the line.”
Jane added: “It’s a great story.
“We’ll see Liam and another character in a way we’ve not seen them before.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
