One iconic soap star has confessed that she “would love” to return to the show that started it all, decades after making a move into the porn industry.
Maitland Ward got her start in US soap The Bold and the Beautiful back in 1994, before landing roles in everything from comedy film White Chicks to sitcom Boy Meets World.
But in the early 2000s, she decided to make a move into the adult film industry after making more racy content online.

It turns out that porn isn’t all that different from the world of soaps, as Maitland dished exclusively to Daily Star.
She explained: “The adult world and the soap opera world are so similar. It’s a very closed community – in soap operas you have the different shows that people hop back and forth on, in porn you have the different studios and different brands.
“You all know each other. You have your award shows, your press; the personalities are very similar because you have either the big, bold, bodacious personalities and then you have people who are more serious and want to make the films. It’s a good comparison.”
That’s not where the similarities end, however, as Maitland giggled: “Soaps are love in the afternoon, they just don’t show everything on screen!”
Maitland went on to tease an epic return to the show that started it all.
“I’ve had so many people say, ‘You should go back to the soap and try it!’ I hadn’t thought about it for a long time but I think it might be really fun, especially in my new, grown-up persona.
“Last time I was on it I wasn’t even 20 yet. It would be fun to explore that side of myself and my character from all those years ago, and I think it would be fun for the audience too.”
But what did her former co-stars think of her turning away from mainstream TV and venturing into the adult world?
“I had the best reaction from my co-stars. If I look back on my acting career, probably I had the closest friends who are kind of like family from my soap days,” she admitted.

“I got notes from people who were so supportive of me, and they love me all these years later. Even from [executive producer] Bradley Bell.
“The guys who played my cousins, Thorne and Ridge Forrester [Jeff Trachta and Ronn Moss] are so supportive of me. I’m still super besties with my on-screen rapist [Sly Donovan, played by Brent Jasmer].
“He did all this stuff, he set me on fire, tried to drug me, all these terrible things – but we’re still super close!” she quipped.
