Ex ITV boss says stars are an ‘absolute nest of vipers’, Piers Morgan claims

Piers Morgan has been one of the celebrities rushing to Phillip Schofield’s defence after he was axed from This Morning.

In one column, Piers branded some of the stars from ITV a “bunch of savages”, and in new bombshell claims, he has stated an ex ITV boss has agreed with him.

Phillip Schofield confirmed he was stepping down from This Morning over the weekend after reports of a rift between him and his co-host Holly Willoughby.

In the days that followed, various ex ITV stars have had their say – but Piers hit back at This Morning after his tribute on Monday’s show and said he “deserved better”.

Now in his latest column with The Sun Piers has said that a former ITV executive has thrown his support behind him too.

Piers wrote: “When I was asked about his sacking yesterday and described daytime TV as being “infested by a pack of savages”, I got an email from a former senior ITV executive saying simply: “You’re not wrong. Absolute nest of vipers with zero loyalty.”

He declared that he can back that statement from experience after his GMB exit.

Piers said the “two-faced” people in the industry would “billow constant adoring smoke up my a** to my face”, but claimed they would be foul-mouthing him behind his back.

He did however, add that not everyone in daytime TV is like that and said: “I met a lot of good, decent people when I worked in that environment, and took some of them with me when I joined TalkTV.”

Piers explained he believes that Phil should have been allowed to say a proper goodbye to his ITV audience – adding that he also believes he should have been able to do the same on GMB.

Piers had to leave his role at GMB after refusing to apologise to Meghan Markle when he stated he didn’t believe anything she said in her scandalous Oprah Winfrey interview.

After he left ITV, Piers has since worked on TalkTV with his own show, Piers Morgan Uncensored.
