The pair, who played couple Pam and Mick, will be visiting locations that featured on the show, including Barry in Wales and Billericay in Essex.

And there are plans for some of their co-stars to make an appearance. Alison said: “I can’t wait to take this trip down memory lane to explore Pam and Mick’s neck of the woods as well as so many other locations precious to me.

“And who better to do it with than Larry? I’m so excited to be reunited.”

Larry added: “I am really looking forward to reminiscing with Alison while taking the trip from Billericay to Barry, it was such a huge part in the plot of Gavin & Stacey.

“This journey holds a special place in my heart and I hope the fans are pleased with it.”

A spokeswoman for the show said: “Alison and Larry will make the 210-mile journey while stopping off at beauty spots in the
glorious countryside.

“They also visit locations that have an intimate connection to them and Gavin & Stacey.”

The show will air later this year.

The original series ended in 2010 after three seasons on BBC, but the cast famously reunited in 2019 for a Christmas special, much to the joy of the fans.

Sadly, another official return isn’t on the cards, with Ruth Jones telling Lorraine Kelly that there isn’t more episodes of Gavin & Stacey coming in the next few years.

She said at the time that she’s often asked if it’s coming back and she confessed it’s a no, adding: “There are no plans and that is what I’ve been saying for the last few years.”

However, with the documentary on the cards, it won’t be the last fans hear from the cast.
