Gogglebox fans disgusted by star's 'gross' food habit – but others say it’s 'amazing'

Gogglebox fans were left sickened at their TV screens after a star made a “gross” food confession – but others appeared to champion it.

The hit Channel 4 show was back on TV screens on Friday for another instalment of our favourite Brits giving their take on the latest bits of telly.

But things took a slightly “gross” turn when fan-favourites The Siddiquis revealed a food confession that soon got people talking at home.

Baasit, Umar and their father Sid have been on the popular programme since it began, and viewers love them for their hilarious TV commentary.

Fans were left divided

During Friday’s episode The Siddiquis recalled how their mum used to put butter into their Weetabix, along with milk, as a child.

“It was amazing,” they quipped.

But their food admission didn’t go down too well with viewers watching the show at home – who were left disgusted.

“Butter on Weetabix and shredded wheat? That’s just gross,” raged one person.

Viewers rushed to Twitter to share their disgust

Another social media user added: “BUTTER IN THE MILK ON WEETABIX,” followed by a head-blown emoji.

Echoing their thoughts, a third person said: “Butter in milk on Weetabix,” before adding the emoji of someone being sick.

Others seemed to be up for trying the food combo, with one writing: “Milk and butter with @weetabix? That sounds amazing.”

“Buttered Weetabix on its own is good,” said someone else.

The Siddiquis joined Gogglebox when it first aired back in 2013, and the trio are occasionally joined by Sid’s other son Raza.

When it comes to the families jobs, Baasit juggles his Gogglebox appearances with his career as an IT teacher and in 2017 he also launched his own business Siddiqui Education, which offers educational workshops to support disadvantaged students.

Meanwhile, Umar has also had a busy career working as a biomedical scientist in microbiology at the Royal Derby Hospital for 18 years.

The brother’s dad Sid is now retired but previously worked as an engineer after moving to the UK from Pakistan at the age of 16.
