During a Q&A on her Instagram Story, the newlywed was asked by a fan if she was “sad” she would not be joining the cast. It was at this point that Olivia admitted that she was “happy” not to be cast as she shared her strong feelings towards two of the campmates.
The presenter confessed that she would “struggle” to be around some of the celebrities this year, but cryptically didn’t reveal who she was referring to. Responding to one fan, she wrote: “Am I ever going to escape the jungle q’s for the rest of my days. Lolol. But the answer… no I’m happy..
“There would have been more than 2 [people] I would of struggled to share the same oxygen with. (But I think that would be the same case any year, it’s kind of the point.)
“Only problem with me, I can’t keep my trap shut,” she confessed. The likes of Nigel Farage, Jamie Lynn Spears, Josie Gibson, Danielle Harold and Sam Thompson will be entering the jungle when the show launches on November 19.
Also joining the celebrity line-up is Fred Sirieix, Marvin Humes, Nick Pickard, Grace Dent and Nella Rose. Her blunt comments come after the Olivia shut down rumours that she would be heading back to the jungle this year.
Sources close to the broadcaster admitted that ITV bosses were “absolutely disappointed” by her exit and made plans to get her back in the jungle the following year. Despite fans excitedly looking forward to her comeback, Olivia revealed she wasn’t able to rearrange projects in time for the show this year.
Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “I wasn’t going to talk about anything jungle related but if I’m honest, the way things played out last year still makes my heart hurt… and brain.
“I have been avoiding Instagram, but the sheer volume of you messaging about the show, commenting and meeting you in person etc I feel like it’s wrong not to speak to you guys. I couldn’t commit to going back this year.
She went on: “It wasn’t the right time for me. There were many things that I had to weigh up, but ultimately the sheer intensity of my schedule doesn’t allow for that much time ‘out the office…’
“I read all your messages about the show, your support and love I will never ever take for granted. One day I hope when the time is right. We can finish my jungle story… for you guys and for myself.
