ITV have axed a bunch of their new dating shows, including The Singles Table, after just one series on air.
The show, which was inspired by the Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson Hollywood rom com Wedding Crashers, aired last year and followed a group of stunning single women coming together to attend six real life weddings in the search for the man of their dreams.
A source explained why ITV had chosen to bin the show shortly after its inception, telling The Sun that although it was a “good idea at the time” ITV have decided to put their eggs in other baskets.

“The Singles Table seemed a good idea at the time and was easy to make. But after much consideration, ITV decided to focus on other shows,” the source revealed.
They continued: “It proves that dating series need to be instant hits, otherwise they’re unlikely to be renewed.”
The Singles Table joins a group of one-season-wonders that failed to do well despite the success of hit dating show, Love Island. The show’s that were axed include Channel 4’s The Love Trap, ITV1’s Romeo & Duet and Ready To Mingle on ITV2.
ITV’s mass axing comes after they reportedly decided to focus on launching the new winter series of Love Island, which regularly airs in the summer.
The first ever winter series launched in 2020 with contestants like Shaughna Phillips, Paige Turley and Eve and Jess Gale coming out of the show after being fan favourites. The villa is in South Africa whereas the Summer version takes place in Majorca.
The 2023 Winter Love Island, which is set to air in this month, will be hosted by Maya Jama after Laura Whitmore quit the presenting gig after the last season.
