Emmedale actress Olivia Bromley has called for bosses to revisit Dawn Fletcher’s “forgotten” connection with Ryan Stocks (James Moore).
The pair were once close friends and even had romantic feelings towards each other but when Dawn seen Ryan kissing his old friend Gail Loman (Rachael Gill-Davis) back in 2019 it put a spanner in the works and the duo seemed to have grown apart over the years.
Despite Dawn now being happily married to Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle), Olivia admits she would like to see her character get back friendly with Ryan because they’ve been through so much.

Speaking to Daily Star and other press, Olivia said: “Dawn and Ryan’s friendship has kind of been forgotten a little bit I think. That was was one of her first connections into the village really and they had so much in common at the beginning. They were both vulnerable characters who bonded very unexpectedly so I think it would be nice to have their friendships rekindled.”
Olivia joined the cast of Emmerdale as Dawn in 2018 and has been at the centre of some gripping storylines. However, she’s set to take on her biggest challenge to date as she gives birth to a baby boy. She explained: “”It was a big challenge as an actor to do these things especially if you’ve not experienced it in real life.
“We had a medical advisor on set and a very little 12 day old baby. Jay [Kontzle, who plays Billy] has his own kids so he was brilliant. I was terrible nervous to hold someone else’s newborn but so cute. The parents were really chilled and were thrilled to see their newborn on screen. Dawn’s baby is a little boy called Evan, named after Billy’s dad.”

Despite Dawn and Billy welcoming their little boy to the world, it doesn’t seem that happiness is on the horizon in 2024 and Olivia confirmed “big changes” were coming. She said: “At the moment it all sees fine but it won’t be for very long. There’s some big things coming up definitely but I’m in the dark because we’ve had some big changes so all I know is that there’s going to be big drama for Billy and Dawn in Spring time but I honestly don’t know yet myself.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
