I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is reportedly considering an exception to one of the show’s alleged rules to accommodate Nigel Farage.
Rumours have been swirling that the Brexit Party leader will be part of the ITV reality series, joining the likes of Jamie Lynn Spears and Josie Gibson in the Australian jungle. Political journalist Ava Evans recently shared some “insider knowledge” in an interview about Nigel’s apprehensions about participating in the show.
Contrary to what many might assume, the 59-year-old seems more concerned about the camp’s contraband than the living conditions or the infamous Bushtucker Trials. “Would you like some insider knowledge about why Nigel Farage was considering not participating? It’s the smoking ban. You can’t smoke, and he is a very heavy smoker,” Ava revealed during an episode of the Paper Cuts podcast.

When asked if they might make an exception for him, she replied: “I think that’s being negotiated. That was a discussion that Chris Moyles also had last year because he is also a very heavy smoker.” Contestants on I’m A Celebrity are required to adhere to stringent rules when it comes to packing for the show, with a list of everyday items banned from entering the secluded camp.
It’s said campmates are prohibited from bringing clocks, snacks, cosmetics, books, or writing materials such as pens and paper into their camp, a strategy employed by producers to immerse contestants in the competition and encourage interaction with fellow campmates. There are even restrictions on the number of underwear items contestants can pack, with one former participant claiming they were limited to no more than three pairs.

Cigarettes are also reportedly on the list of banned items, potentially forcing smoking celebrities to quit the habit in order to take part in the show or negotiate with the producers. In the past, other I’m A Celebrity stars, such as Kerry Katona and Jenny McAlpine, have found ways to work around this rule and were seen smoking on camera during their respective seasons.
ITV has asserted that there is no smoking ban on the show. However, they clarified that celebrities with a nicotine habit must confine their smoking to a designated area. “Celebrities who smoke are allowed to smoke in camp,” as stated by ITV to The Sun in 2018. “They have to smoke near the campfire and then put their cigarette butts out in the fire.”
Nigel Farage has never been discreet about his smoking habit, having been photographed smoking on numerous occasions throughout his political career.
