Nick Pickard has become the fourth star to be axed from I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Here! – and he admitted: “It’s great”.
The hit ITV reality show returned to screens on Wednesday night (December 6) with its latest elimination. And after two weeks of camping in the Aussie jungle, time was up for Hollyoaks star Nick.
After presenters Ant and Dec announced that Nick would be leaving the jungle with immediate effect, the star made his way out of camp. But the presenters were quick to highlight how joyful Nick appeared as he couldn’t stop smiling as he made his way to the jungle studio.
Talking openly, Nick admitted that he did enjoy his experience and he was glad he was chosen to take part. But during his second week, the soap star confessed he found things “tough”.
He said: “It’s great, I am not going to lie. It has been amazing but after the second week it is really tough.”
Seeing the unexpected departure unfold, fans headed over to X formerly known as Twitter to share their reaction. One viewer said: “Nick has done so well getting this far. So proud of him. I adore that man.”
Another penned: “Gutted Nick has gone. What a nice fella. Can’t say it enough.”
A third viewer echoed: “Nah I’m gutted Nick has gone, this interview is showing even more how lovely he is. He needed more screentime.”
Meanwhile a fourth added: “Ah.. sad Nick has gone from I’m a Celeb, comes across as a lovely bloke.”
Other viewers also turned their attentions’ to former politician Nigel Farage as some spectators were surprised that he was still surviving the public vote. Sharing their thoughts, fans seem to think Nigel could make it to the final.
Heading over to X again, one fan said: “We all need to boycott I’m a celeb if Nigel ends up in the final 4.” And another shared: “I can’t believe you imbeciles voted out the fitty NICK PICKARD before NIGEL FARAGE?!?!?!”
On Tuesday’s show, First Dates star Fred Sirieix became the third contestant to leave, following his cooking spat with This Morning star Josie Gibson. Talking to Ant and Dec about what he will miss from being in camp, he said: “I’ve loved living in the moment and not thinking about what’s happening next.”
