Love Island fans all say the same thing amid 'most tense moment of the series'

Love Island fans all said the exact same thing as the ITV2 dating show aired the “most tense moment of the series” so far.

On Sunday night (February 12), the villa was still buzzing from the row between Tanya and Shaq, after she said she saw bits of her ex-boyfriend in her new flame.

Shaq took offence to her so-called “red flags”, and the conversation for most of the episode was dominated by a “repetitive” discussion between the pair which had viewers rolling their eyes.

But that wasn’t what had fans reeling from the tension.

Instead, the lads conducting a swimming race for their flip flops had them at the edge of their seats. Splashing water to get their footwear to move along the waves, the lads decided on the impromptu competition as fans all agreed they must be “bored” in the South African villa.

Kai suggested: “Let’s see who can get to the other side quicker.”

Tom seemed confused, as Casey asked: “Can you push it?”

“You can use the waves. Three, two, one…” Kai instructed.

Eventually one of the lads flung his spare slider to the other side, declaring: “I win.”

Viewers all seemed to agree that the race was ‘filler’ to drag the Casa Amor tension out

Taking to Twitter to share their comments, one viewer wrote: “#LoveIsland that flip flop race in the pool was the most tense moment of this whole series!”

“Why are we watching the boys race their flip flops? Is this the best entertainment on offer? Just cut to Casa already,” a second fan posted.

As another echoed: “This really is a filler episode to build hype for Casa cause why did we need to see a swimming pool flip flop race put that sh** on unseen bits so I don’t have to watch it!”

The tense moment didn’t result in a clear winner – especially as one of the lads cheated

Someone else followed up: “Ofc they are saving Casa announcement til the end of this episode, I don’t want to see these people racing flip flops in the pool.”

A fifth viewer tweeted: “They’re racing flip flops, oh it’s bad!”

Later in the episode, however, it was time for the girls to sneak out to Casa Amor, with a text warning them to grab the essentials and make their way out of the villa – out of the lads’ sight.

The boys were left calling after their partners, who were nowhere to be seen.
