One of Love Island’s most iconic contestants is confirmed to appear in the upcoming Barbie movie after bagging a cameo from Margot Robbie.
Chris Taylor, who was in series five of the ITV dating show, is set to have a cameo in one of the most hotly anticipated films of the year so far, with Margot said to be insistent that he appeared.
The former business development manager makes an appearance in one scene towards the middle of the movie.

Taylor, 32, said that the opportunity came from an afterparty that the ex-Islander didn’t even go to.
Speaking to Cosmpolitan, the model revealed that he met lead actress Margot Robbie at a party celebrating the release of Birds of Prey, after his mates Jordan Hames and Michael Griffiths ran into the Aussie actress at the premiere.
Chris said that Robbie was “gassed” to see the guys, adding that she later invited all the boys to the afterparty after the movie was shown.
“I was actually in bed, but I said I’d come as how often do you get to meet Margot Robbie?” he joked.
The Wolf of Wall Street and Suicide Squad actress is a well-known Love Island fan, having “fan-girled” when she bumped into 2022 winner Ekin-Su on the pink carpet in London.
After the do, it was clear Chris had made an impression on the actress, as he was contacted by Warner Brothers to audition for a role in the film over a year later.
On a post on Instagram, the ex-Islander said he was shocked to have made the cut, writing: “This WILL sound made up… but I’m in the ACTUAL Barbie Film! No bloody idea how, but here we are… I’m an actual Ken (I talk a lot of sh**e so swipe for evidence).”
The former Love Island star, who hit screens on the series in 2019, initially didn’t believe the invitation was real.
“I was fully convinced it was a prank,” he said. “These YouTubers, they’re clever, they’ll write full on contracts and do the prank video.
“But I pulled up at Warner Brothers and saw Ryan Gosling walked past my car and I thought ‘this definitely isn’t a prank’.”
Chris makes his cameo alongside other actors like Ryan Gosling, Ncuti Gatwa and Ben Kingsley, all paying different versions of Barbie’s boyfriend Ken.
He added that Gatwa, known for his roles in Sex Education and Doctor Who, said that he had watched Chris’ season of Love Island, adding that he should have won.
As well as this, Chris gave thanks to a “glorious ray of sunshine” for making the role happen.
Taylor later confirmed to Cosmopolitan that it was Margot Robbie he was referring to in the post, adding that the Aussie bombshell has a secret account where she follows Islanders.
Barbie is set to hit cinema screens on Friday (July 21).
