Masked Singer UK fans 'rumble' Rubbish as hot Dancing On Ice star after giveaway clues

Some Masked Singer UK fans are in agreement that the identity of Rubbish could be a famous gymnast who is currently competing on another much-loved ITV1 show.

During Saturday night’s episode (January 21) of the much-loved guessing show, fans were frantically guessing under the programme’s Twitter hashtag.

Rubbish was the first to perform on the show, with guesses swirling in an instant.

Most viewers believed that the celebrity behind the Rubbish costume was Paddy McGuinness after a Take Me Out quip, while others guessed Robbie Williams.

But one viewer took a step away from the obvious guesses and threw a different name into the mix, leaving viewers’ heads in a spin.

Taking to Twitter after Rubbish had performed, the viewer wrote: “I reckon Rubbish is Nile Wilson the gymnast, a medallist, been on celebrity take me out and spoke out about the abuse in gymnastics!”

Garnering a selection of likes from fellow guessers, it seemed as though 27-year-old retired gymnast Nile, who is currently starring in this year’s Dancing On Ice, might be a good guess.

“Good call,” some replied, along with a thumbs up emoji.

But someone else wasn’t convinced when they said: “He’s currently on dancing on ice, I know it’s not at the same time but on air at the same time.”

While another fan, who definitely disagreed, added: “It’s definitely a snooker player. All the clues have been the ball colours, angles, frames and triangle.”

Although Nile Wilson seems like a contender for whoever might be behind the mask of Rubbish, most viewers reckon a famous snooker player might be more plausible.

Ronnie O’Sullivan is a fan-favourite guess at the moment after Rubbish used a musical triangle in a previous episode – which could link to the triangle used to set up snooker balls.

The Masked Singer airs on Saturday nights at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
