A number of prescription drugs were discovered in Matthew Perry’s home following his tragic death aged 54.
On Saturday (October 28), it was announced that the Friends legend has passed away after “drowning in his hot tub”. Law enforcement sources said there were no drugs discovered at the scene, however, have now confirmed that numerous prescription medications were found in his house after he had died.
TMZ were told that the actor was on anti-depressants, anti-anxiety drugs, and a COPD drug. COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) brings down swelling in the lungs and relaxes the airways.

The star was a known smoker and had tried his first cigarette at the age of 10. Emergency responders arrived at Perry’s home on Saturday after receiving a call at 4.07pm about a suspected cardiac arrest, and found the star unconscious in his hot tub.
According to NBC, law enforcement sources claimed that Perry had drowned, and it was treated as a ‘water rescue’. TMZ claimed Perry returned home following a round of pickleball, a mix of tennis, badminton and ping-pong, and sent his assistant out on an errand, but was found unresponsive when the aide returned home just two hours later, prompting him to call for help.
Tributes have been pouring in for the late actor, who was loved by millions due to his portrayal of Chandler Bing in the hit US sitcom. Maggie Wheeler shared a heartfelt tribute to her late co-star, admitting she felt “blessed” to act alongside him.
“What a loss. The world will miss you Mathew Perry,” she wrote alongside a photo of the two as their characters. “The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared.”
Wheeler, 62, appeared in all 10 seasons of the NBC series, which ran from 1994 to 2004. She played Janice Hosenstein, the on-off girlfriend of Perry’s character Chandler.
Selma Blair also honoured the late star with a selfie of the pair, telling her three million followers that she loved him “unconditionally”. The actress, 51, wrote: “My oldest boy friend.
“All of us loved Matthew Perry, and I did especially. Every day. I loved him unconditionally. And he me. And I’m broken. Broken hearted. Sweet dreams Matty. Sweet dreams.” Selma played a small role in the show, starring as Wendy in the episode, The One With Christmas In Tulsa.
