Late Friends star Matthew Perry raked in a fortune of millions thanks to his appearance as Chandler Bing on the beloved US comedy series, which for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004.
The cast were said to be earning $22,500 per episode in season one, but after they decided to negotiate as a team to ensure they were being paid the same, the six main cast members were on a whopping $1million per episode in season ten.

Matthew and the rest of the team also benefited from syndication payments which started during the season six negotiations, and in 2021, Forbes estimated the cast had made $260 million through syndication, based on data provided by S&P Global and conversations with sources close to the deals.
The actor also enjoyed a successful career following his time as Chandler, as he appeared in Growing Pains, The Odd Couple and 17 Again over the years.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Matthew was worth a huge $120million at the time of his death following his career spanning over three decades.
Fans of the show were left devastated by the news of Matthew’s death, as he passed away aged 54 after reportedly drowning in his hot tub.
According to TMZ, Perry was found in his hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home by emergency services after they received a call about a cardiac arrest.
The star is said to have drowned. Law enforcement sources say that no drugs were discovered at the scene and there is no indication of foul play.
The Friends’ official Twitter account confirmed the sad news as they posted: “We are devastated to learn of Matthew Perry’s passing. He was a true gift to us all. Our heart goes out to his family, loved ones, and all of his fans.”
