Paris Jackson told to ‘go die’ for not posting tribute to Michael Jackson on birthday

Paris Jackson has hit back at internet trolls who called her out for not wishing her father, late pop star Michael Jackson, a happy birthday on social media.

On Tuesday (August 29), the King of Pop Michael would’ve turned 65 as fans took to social media to share memories and tributes.

Paris appeared to have publically overlooked the occasion and instead shared snaps from a recent gig during her current tour with Incubus and Bad Flower.

Unimpressed fans took to online to share their fury with the celebrity, making their feelings loud and clear.

Paris, meanwhile, revealed amongst the backlash that she also received death threats following the happening and took time to call out the trolls for their mean comments.

Setting the record straight, Paris said to followers on Instagram: “So, today is my dad’s birthday,” she started while sitting in her dressing room. “And back when he was alive, he used to hate anybody acknowledging his birthday, wishing him a ‘Happy Birthday’, celebrating it — nothing like that.”

Adding: “He actually didn’t want us to even know when his birthday was because he didn’t want us to throw a party or anything like that.

“Social media is apparently how people express their love and affection these days,” she said. “And if you don’t wish someone a ‘Happy Birthday’ via social media, it apparently means that you don’t love them, that you don’t care about them.”

She continued: “There have been times where I don’t post anything for my dad’s birthday, and people lose their f***ing minds. They tell me to kill myself.

“They’re basically measuring my love for my own father based off of what I post on Instagram. So I made you guys a little video and I hope you enjoy it.”

The American Horror Stories star then cut to a video taken earlier from the concert of her addressing the crowd between songs.

“It’s also my dad’s birthday,” she said to the screams of the crowd.

“He would have been 65 years old today, and he put 50 years of blood, sweat and tears and love and passion into doing what he did, so that I can stand up here on stage in front of you and scream into a microphone.

“So, I owe everything to him.”
