Peter Crouch has joked that his wife Abbey Clancy only slept with him because she felt sorry for him.
The former footballer made the tongue-in-cheek claim on the latest episode of his podcast The Therapy Crouch. Peter and Abbey were speaking to The Inbetweeners star James Buckley and his wife Clair, who host the podcast In Sickness and in Health.
The two podcasting couples were discussing how they met their respective partners when James, who played Jay in the hit E4 sitcom, joked that “pity” helped him woo Clair. And model Abbey couldn’t help teasing her partner.

“I don’t want to break down any kind of bro code, or let any secrets out or anything but pity is an aphrodisiac,” he said. Peter made it sound like it gave him an upper-hand, too.
He jokingly replied: “Well it’s worked for both of us,” before bursting out laughing. James added: “We’ve done really well out of it.” James replied: “You can make a woman feel sorry for you into bed.”
Abbey joked: “Pity is hot, man!”, with Pete adding: “It worked a treat.” The couple recently dished on their “dirty weekend in a hotel”.
The pair enjoyed a romantic night at private members club Estelle Manor in Oxfordshire. Abbey said: “[The hotel] is 10 minutes from Bicester village so it was literally my perfect little dirty weekend in a hotel. Dirty night in a hotel. It was incredible.”
She continued: “It was the most incredible building, the decor… I was having a heart attack. I was taking pictures of everything. It was just wonderful. The most amazing outdoor pool, lined with big terracotta pots with olive trees.
