Phillip Schofield’s brother Timothy once called in to This Morning to discuss his “traumatic” near-death experience.
Back in 2016, the former IT technician phoned into the daytime ITV show to discuss his experience with the ambulance service who responded to his 999 call.
Before the programme hit the airwaves, Phillip texted his brother – who had an issue with his heart at the time – to ask if he would be happy to talk about his life-changing incident in front of millions of viewers.

After he gave his approval, the dad-of-two watched on with pride as Timothy went into detail about the terrifying moment on air.
During the 2016 news segment, Phillip invited Timothy onto to the show to speak about the impressive work of the emergency services after he started having heart problems.
He recalled: “They were absolutely amazing, the team from the ambulance service were with me right the way through from the hospital to where I am now in the rehab.
“Even the paramedics came back to visit me when I was in the hospital, just to see how I was getting on. They have been absolutely phenomenal.”
“They stick with you and the support even during that traumatic time is phenomenal.”
Timothy was just one of several callers on the day, following new figures which showed ambulance services in England were failing to meet response times.
Phillip told viewers that his brother could not remember the 999 call, which he claimed “is probably a good thing” at the time.
The host went on to reveal how the emergency services kept his brother talking until the paramedics arrived, adding: “They stick with you and the support even during that traumatic time is phenomenal.”
When Phillip asked how his brother was feeling now, he replied: “I’m feeling alright. I’ve just been having an hour of exercise as part of my cardiac rehab and now I’m in a class, talking about the drugs I am taking.
Co-host Holly Willoughby chimed in with: “It’s lovely to speak to you because we’ve all followed it and seen Phil going through it and it’s just really nice to hear your voice and that you’re back on the mend.”
Phillip Schofield has not appeared on the ITV show for the past week, with ITV bosses stating that the presenter was taking “pre-planned” leave.
It comes after Timothy Schofield was found guilty of sexually abusing a teenage boy over the course of three years at Exeter Crown Court.
Timothy, 54, was charged with 11 sexual offences involving a child between 2016 and 2019, including two counts of sexual activity with a child.

Schofield denied performing sexual acts on the teenager and claimed they watched pornography together and had masturbated while sitting apart.
Following the verdict, Phillip Schofield posted a statement on his Instagram Story which read: “My overwhelming concern is and has always been for the wellbeing of the victim and his family. I hope that their privacy will now be respected.
“If any crime had ever been confessed to me by my brother, I would have acted immediately to protect the victim and their family.
“These are despicable crimes, and I welcome the guilty verdicts. As far as I am concerned, I no longer have a brother.”
