Rita Ora admits she was ‘broken’ after dealing with the ‘struggle’ of fame

Rita Ora broke down in tears about dealing with the struggles of fame on a podcast.

The superstar singer, 32, started to become emotional when talking to Dragon’s Den star Steven Bartlett on his Diary of a CEO podcast.

Rita admitted that despite the success she was having, she felt it was not enough.

“I was on a rollercoaster, living my dream but then when I would wake up it’d be like silent and it wouldn’t feel nice,” she said.

“There was a sense of having to work to prove myself, I was a naive young dreamer and that’s exactly what you should be at that age.”

Ora added that mistakes had been made throughout her career and that it had a negative effect on her.

The pop star behind hits such as Praising You and Anywhere said she felt “broken”, admitting that it made her feel “like everything I’ve done is about to disappear and takes me back to the fear of losing everything”.

Shedding tears, she continued: “All I think about is my mum and dad because they’ve worked so hard to get me to this point, I have my whole family to keep afloat.

“You can’t help but always blame yourself for everything, the only way forward is to keep moving forward.”

Rita noted that she reached breaking point when she suffered her first panic attack whilst at an event being hosted by the Prince’s Trust in 2016 whilst waiting to meet King Charles.

It comes after the singer released her third album You & I, which is poised to reach No3 in the album charts on Friday (July 21).

She is set to land behind last week’s chart-topper Taylor Swift and rapper J Hus, who had success after featuring on the track Who Told You alongside Drake.

Ora described the album as a “full-blown love story” after the singer married actor and director Taika Waititi last year.

The couple have already worked together on a number of projects, including hosting the MTV Europe Music Awards in Germany last November.
