Holly Willoughby has revealed that she feels “shaken, troubled, let down and worried” by her former co-host Phillip Schofield after his affair.
The TV presenter choked back tears when she returned to ITV’s This Morning on Monday (June 5) and addressed Phillip’s affair at the start of the programme.
Phillip recently revealed he had an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male ITV employee while still married to his wife.

Before she delivered her highly-anticipated statement, Holly thanked her co-star Josie Gibson for being there with her and took a deep breath.
She grew emotional as she told viewers about feeling let down by Phillip, whom she only mentioned by name once, and how different it feels without him on the sofa.
Asking viewers if they were okay, she said: “Right, deep breath. Firstly, are you okay? I hope so.”
She said: “It feels very strange indeed sitting here without Phil, and I imagine that you might be feeling a lot like I have.
“Shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what’s been going on, and full of questions.
“You, me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth.
“Who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved.
“That is a lot to process, and it’s equally hard to see the toll that it’s taken on their own mental health.”
She continued: “I think what unites us all now is a desire to heal for the health and wellbeing of everyone.
“I hope that as we start this new chapter and get back to a place of warmth and magic that this show holds for all of us, we can find strength in each other.”
She finished by thanking viewers for their kindness and support.
Phillip has now quit ITV altogether, parted ways with his former management agency YMU and admitted that he has to speak about his TV career in the “past tense”.
