Strictly Come Dancing’s booted celeb Les Dennis reportedly clashed with his pro partner Nancy Xu behind the scenes.
The showbiz veteran, 69, became the first star to be eliminated from the glitzy BBC One show at the weekend. Les and Nancy found themselves in the dance-off against Nikita Kanda and Gorka Marquez – with the latter remaining in the competition.
And despite him appearing to get on well with dancing partner Nancy, a source has alleged that behind the scenes it was a vastly different story. So much so that he reportedly “clashed” with the pro.

Speaking to The Sun, the insider claimed: “Les was often moody and erratic because he found the training a very draining process. He’s almost 70 so was knackered just two weeks in and this led to clashes with Nancy.”
The source added: “His mood didn’t match Nancy’s enthusiasm and positivity which created tension and discord in the studio. Les became frustrated at the slightest misstep and would lose his cool, while Nancy was very patient and encouraging which only rankled Les even more. They were just polar opposites.”
They also claimed Les would often “lose his cool” at the slightest mistake – while Nancy was “patient and encouraging.” This supposedly only “rankled” Les even more. The source described the duo as “polar opposites.”
The BBC declined to comment when contacted by Daily Star.
It comes after a body language expert exclusively told Daily Star that after hearing he was getting the boot from the show, Les looked “bitter.” While partner dancing Nancy “felt sorry for herself more than anything.”
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Slots, body language expert Darren Stanton exclusively told Daily Star: “When he was told he was going home, Les had a slightly bitter expression. He wasn’t happy or pleased with the result, but I can tell a part of him was relieved about it being over now.”
Darren added: “He’s done it and gave it a good go. There weren’t any real moments of connection between him and Nancy. This week, it seemed he had given up a bit. I think he was ready to say goodbye.”

The expert then claimed how Nancy and Les “never had a really strong connection.” So much so, that Nancy appeared to be more “sad for herself.”
Darren explained: “With Nancy and Les, I don’t think they ever had a really strong connection. Nancy was genuinely very sorry to see him go. She did look upset when they were announced to be leaving.
“It’s bittersweet for her as it’s her time coming to an end too. She did look down when Tess was speaking to her and Les, which does suggest sadness – but it was probably for herself more than anything.”
