Amy Dowden has courageously acknowledged that she was not prepared to shave her head as she undergoes chemotherapy treatment following her recent breast cancer diagnosis.
The Strictly Come Dancing star has expressed her sorrow upon noticing the onset of hair loss, a prevalent aftermath of chemo.
While Amy’s hair loss persists due to treatment, the telly personality turned to Instagram page on Thursday (August 24) to seek advice from her fans and followers on navigating the profound effects of her chemotherapy.

Taking to her Instagram story, the 33-year-old Welsh dancer asked: “So my scalp/head the last few days been quite sore and painful with the hair loss.
“Any tips of what may help this out there?
“Really appreciate, will share to help others too.”
Reacting to Amy’s inquiry, a supporter urged the professional dancer to take the plunge and shave her hair preemptively before it naturally sheds completely.
Nevertheless, BBC One star openly acknowledged that she wasn’t emotionally prepared to undertake such a significant step in her current journey.
“I’m personally not ready for this,” Amy replied.
She continued: “I’ve had lots telling me just shave it. It’s only hair.
“I’ve already gone through body changes for life, emotions, pain and right now I want to try save what I can with the cooling cap.
“Absolutely to those who brave the shave, you are strong!
“But please all remember everyone of us have different emotions, battles and deals with everything with what’s best for them and how they cope best!
“All journeys are personal.”
Earlier this week, Amy shared that she is dealing with blood clots after returning home from undergoing treatment.
Taking to Instagram page, she wrote to her 485,000 followers: “And I’m going home to my own bed!
“Thanks again to the marvellous NHS! Got some blood clots but I’m feeling good other than a sore and swollen arm.”
The Caerphilly-born dancer who is married to choreographer Benjamin Jones, revealed she had been diagnosed with the disease in May as she underwent a mastectomy a month later.
