Strictly Come Dancing legends Janette Manrara and Aljaž Škorjanec have welcomed their first child.
The showbiz couple took to Instagram on Saturday (July 29) to share the joyous news with their loyal legion of fans online.
They beamed with pride as they shared their first family snap taken from the hospital bed where Aljaž simply bent over his glowing wife while she cradled their newborn daughter in her arms.

She simply captioned the memorable snap with her child’s unique name and the date of her arrival: “Lyra Rose Škorjanec, July 28, 2023 [rose emoji].”

The doting parents were soon flooded with congratulatory messages from their famous friends and loyal fans online.
Ashley Roberts penned: ” So beautiful!!! Love you!!! [two heart emojis, two rose emojis].”
EastEnders star Jake Wood echoed: “Welcome to the world Lyra!!! You have chosen amazing parents [two praise emojis, two heart emojis].”

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley chimed in with: “CONGRATULATIONS….little Lyra one thing is for sure, with your beautiful Mum and Dad you will be loved, loved and loved some more [three heart emojis].”
The couple, who got married in 2017, had been planning on starting IVF treatment after struggling to conceive naturally.
Janette said at the time that she was “overwhelmed with emotion” at the 12-week scan when the doctor joked the baby is “already dancing”.

She explained: “We thought IVF was the next best thing for us to do.
“I turn 40 later this year and the NHS offers really good services to women under 40.”
The duo had been scheduled to start treatment as soon as Janette started her period, but it never ended up coming.

Former Strictly: It Takes Two presenter Janette said: “I know that IVF can be really strenuous on a woman’s body and there is no guarantee it will work, so to know that this little miracle just came from a wonderful night we had together is amazing.”
It comes after the couple announced the news that they’ll both be back on stage this Christmas.
Taking to Instagram to share a snap of her and Aljaž, Janette penned: “”We are back!!

“So excited to finally announce that @aljazskorjanec and I will be back on stage dancing and performing for you all this year during the festive season.
“It’s been a while since we were on stage together, so this will be a very special one; especially as it’s our first holiday season as 3!

Strictly fans were excited about the announcement but some were concerned about Janette heading back to work months after welcoming her first child.
One fan penned: ” Would you not want to enjoy that wee baby?”
Another added: “9 months to grow a baby and 9 months to recover. I’d have given myself the year off to focus on the baby and enjoy the first year of everything. I’ve had two and the first few months are exhausting.”
A third person posted: “Wow good luck. All I can say is I hope that baby sleeps for you.”
