The One Show's Alex Jones takes cheeky swipe at co-star saying 'surprised he went there'

The One Show host Alex Jones couldn’t help but make a cheeky dig at co-host Ronan Keating as he referenced his famous song live on air.

They were back on presenting duty on Thursday (January 12) evening and welcomed former Loose Women star Jane McDonald and pop star George Ezra to the famous green sofa.

Before the interviews got underway, a video of Jane riding a rollercoaster in Las Vegas played out on screen.

Alex asked Ronan: “Has anyone ever looked happier riding a rollercoaster?”

The singer replied: “Some would say life is a rollercoaster:, which is the title of his 2000 smash hit single.

After a few giggles from the crew off-camera, Alex said: “I’m surprised he went there straight away.”

Ronan moved on swiftly and went on to discuss George being nominated for two BRIT awards.

It comes after Alex was missing from The One Show on Tuesday (January 10) with Lauren Laverne joining Jermaine Jenas on the sofa.

Earlier in the day, the mother-of-three revealed on her Instagram that she had broken down in a supermarket car park.

Alex told fans that she’d suffered a “driver’s nightmare” after her car broke down at her local Sainsbury’s.

While Alex was listed in the latest as working on the latest instalment, Radio 6 Music and Desert Island Discs hos Lauren was front and centre with Jermaine instead.

The pair chatted to hypnotist Paul McKenna and Strictly winners Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal.

Alex posted to her Instagram story a picture of her car broken down in the supermarket car park,

She wrote: “Happy Tuesday! Currently broken down here of all places. Hope you’re [sic] day is better!”

The One Show fans were left gobsmacked during a recent episode over Call The Midwife star Helen George’s stunning apperance.

Viewers rushed to their keyboards to say that she looked nothing liker BBC series character Nurse Trixie.
