This Morning star announces she’s expecting second child after Phillip Schofield quits

This Morning star Dr Sara Kayat is expecting her second child with her husband, Rupert Walker.

The star, who often appears on the ITV daytime programme to share advice with people about their health issues, announced her happy news on Sunday (May 21), just days after Phillip Schofield revealed he had stepped down from the show.

Sharing a sweet image of her son cradling her bump, Sara opened up with her 43,000 followers as she explained her struggles with conceiving the second time around.

“And so, we grow. We are expecting a little pumpkin this October,” she said.

“When I fell pregnant with Harris, I announced it on insta with too little consideration. It had been an easy journey and I was in my own blissful world.

“The journey to baby two was a little different, and in truth at times I found myself resenting everyone else’s pregnancy announcements.”

Sara added: “So this time round, I’d like to be a little more mindful of others out there who are not where they want to be on their journeys to parenthood.

“I am obviously ecstatic about this announcement, yet I long to reach a loving hand out to anyone who is suffering.

“I’m sorry. It’s not fair. I hope from the depths of my heart that you get what you want or find peace with what you have.”

She signed off the post by saying: “So much love to everyone out there, but especially to those whose paths have been rockier and darker than expected.”

Sara married PR and branding executive Rupert back in 2017 and the couple already share three-year-old Harris.

Dr Sara’s exciting news comes just days after Phillip sensationally quit This Morning after more than 20 years on the programme.

The TV presenter, 61, shared the news on Instagram, writing: “I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.

“Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind.

“I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.”

He continued: “So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers – and I’ll see you all for the Soap Awards next month.”
