This Morning’s Alison Hammond was “proposed to” on the ITV show in a shocking twist.
Alison and Dermot O’Leary welcomed the Brentford Penguins, run by Brentford FV’s Allan Cockram, which is supported by the Brentford Football Club and Down’s Syndome Active. The club is open to boys and girls with Down’s Syndrome aged five and over.

The hosting duo welcomed Allan and three young people into the studio as they discussed the club and how they’ve been getting on. Allan described what prompted him to start the club – but one of the boys soon stole the show.
One of the boys, Lewis, explained that he interviews people after the match and he gave a brief interview to Dermot, before whispering in his ear that he had a cheeky chat-up line for Alison.
Dermot soon passed the news along and told Alison that Lewis had something to ask her – but gave a pre-warning that it was a chat-up line. Lewis said: “Basically, do you live in Tennessee?”, Alison responded: “No I don’t live in Tennessee, why?”, and he added: “Because you’re the only ten I see.”
Alison and Dermot burst out laughing and said it was “amazing”, with Alison cheekily adding that they’ll need to “chat later”. The hosting duo then gave the team a little surprise and said they would be sponsoring the kit of the club – but Lewis had an even bigger surprise for her.
He added two more chat-up lines but as Alison thanked them for coming in he said: “You are so hot I just love you. Will you marry me?” Alison shouted: “Yes!”, prompting her to add: “Aww you’re so lovely.”
After the ad break, Alison told Dermot that she’s now “married”, prompting Dermot to explain his shock that she tied the knot at 10:15am.
The Brentford Penguins website states that they help to promote and educate the wider community about Down’s Syndrome through school visits and presentations. They added that they “provide a friendly family atmosphere where everyone can feel accepted and not isolated within their community”.
Elsewhere in the show, the duo discussed Emmerdale and Radio Times celebrating its 100-year anniversary.
This Morning continues weekdays from 10am on ITV.
