The presenters of popular car TV show Wheeler Dealers have appealed for help after a classic car was stolen from outside their hotel.
Mike Brewer and Marc ‘Elvis’ Priestley have been left “heartbroken” after losing the vehicle while staying at the Premier Inn in Pontefract, West Yorkshire ahead of a car show in Sherburn, Elmet.
Disaster struck when their latest restoration project – a blue 1979 MK 1 Ford Fiesta 1300S – vanished from the car park overnight on Monday (June 26).

The Ford Fiesta MK1 was the first generation of the Ford Fiesta supermini and Ford Europe’s first multi-national front-wheel-drive car.
The pair have taken to social media in a desperate bid to track down their beloved car, which they have dubbed the ‘best in the country’ and have spent 100 hours working on.
Speaking in a clip posted on Twitter, where police officers could be seen in the background, Brewer said: “We have put our heart and soul into getting a M1 1300S Ford Fiesta in blue with a brown interior, and I have really challenged Elvis.
“This has been a nuts and bolts restoration.
“I dare to say that we’ve possibly built the best MK 1 Ford Fiesta in this country – it really is this good.”
Priestley added: “We are heartbroken and it’s a car that deserves to be out there for the world to see, not squirrelled away on the back of some thief’s trailer.”
The vehicle was in a covered trailer when it was taken from outside the hotel on Knottingly Road, Pontefract.
It was supposed to be shown at car festival The Motorist, which sees 500 cars gathered from across the country so car enthusiasts can enjoy them.
In a post on Tuesday, Mike urged broadcasters and the public to help by sharing the clip, writing: “We have had our star car STOLEN on the biggest ever #wheelerdealers day !! Please help and RT.”
He’s asked fans to share snaps of the car, calling it their “stolen pride and joy.”
Wheeler Dealers is a Discovery Channel show that first aired in 2003 and sees car lovers save old and beloved vehicles.
