They say everyone has a lookalike out there, but what if your double isn’t human?
The term “doppelganger” hails from Germany and literally means “double walker”. It refers to someone who bears an uncanny, almost eerie resemblance to another person.
But these doubles don’t necessarily have to be human. In some tales, they’re ghostly figures that can mimic a person’s appearance, while in other instances, they’re animals.
If your “twin” happens to be part of the animal kingdom, you’re not alone. Numerous celebrities have discovered their counterparts in the world of animals, with videos of these peculiar pairings going viral on the internet.
Emma Stone – Cat
A cat owner, known as @aryaloveu4 on social media, left social media users in awe when she shared a video of her feline, claiming it resembles La La Land star Emma Stone. The clip, which has garnered over 1,400 likes, shows the cat lounging on a bed, staring directly at the camera with its large green eyes.
Overlaying the video, the owner suggested her pet looked like the 35 year old award-winning actress and producer, writing: “Emma Stone OMG.”
She wasn’t the only one who thought so, as the video was re-shared by a page dedicated to animals that bear a striking resemblance to celebrities.
Many viewers seemed to concur in the comments section. One user remarked: “It’s the eyes that look the same,” and another chimed in: “This is so great I love it.”
A different person commented: “Weirdly enough there are a lot of cats that look like Emma Stone.”
Rick Hoffman – Beaver
A beaver became an internet hit, amassing over 5.9 million likes, as fans insisted the creature was the spitting image of a popular character from the TV series Suits.
The clip, uploaded by @krustybucketofcheese, shows a woman attempting to shoo the beaver away from her doorstep. But when the beaver turns to face the camera, she lets out a shriek of fright.
Yet, viewers were puzzled by her fear, joking that it was just lawyer Louis Litt (portrayed by Rick Hoffman) dropping by for a visit.
One commenter posted: “I’s just Louis Litt serving you? ” Another queried: “Is that Louis Litt from Suits?”
Will Ferrell – Labradoodle
Over on TikTok, there’s a charming Labradoodle named Bentley, famed not only for his bouncy curls and playful antics but also for bearing a striking resemblance to Step Brothers star Will Ferrell.
The likeness to the 56 year old comedy legend has been pointed out so frequently that Bentley’s owners addressed it in a viral video that snagged upwards of 9,000 likes.
In the footage shared on the @minidoodlebentley handle, the caption reads: “Your dog looks exactly like that one actor” followed by a photo of Ferrell.
The owner then added in the caption: “The amount of you who have said this [eyeroll emoji].”
Viewers were in stitches after watching the video, with many rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts. One person exclaimed: “I can’t unsee it,” while another quipped that they were indeed “twins.”
Ron Perlman – Pig
In a bizarre twist, a US-based small farm owner has left her followers gobsmacked by posting a clip of her pet pig, cheekily suggesting the porker is a dead ringer for a Hollywood star.
Set to the catchy tune of Saucy Santana’s ‘Rock With It’, the caption read: “Celebrity Look-alike Pet Edition.”
The video shows the mother of five affectionately patting her porcine pal before dropping the bombshell comparison to none other than Ron Perlman. The veteran actor, aged 74, is famed for his portrayal of Clay Morrow on the hit show Sons of Anarchy.
