Ant and Dec surprise fans as they turn up at budget Spanish holiday resort

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have left fans surprised after they were seen at a popular budget resort.

The cheeky Geordie duo, both 48, were seen walking around a cheap and cheerful budget holiday resort on the Spanish island of Majorca. Brits making the journey out to the island were left stunned on Wednesday (July 3), when they saw the duo hanging around the hotel.

Excited holidaymakers swarmed around the pool area of the hotel as they were left bemused at why the pair were choosing to relax at the resort. But all became clear when both Ant and Dec were papped filming, which answered many people’s questions.

During their stint on the island, the Byker Grove veterans were seen recording a commercial for holiday company TUI. The filming took several hours and saw Ant and Dec wreaking havoc across the hotel, with producers telling fans the pair were too busy for individual snaps.

But Ant and Dec, never ones to keep themselves to themselves, often were seen waving to families that had headed out to stay at the resort. They also gave out multiple high-fives to young kids who were brazen enough to go up to the pair in between shots.

Speaking about the events, holidaymaker Samantha McAdams told MailOnline that her fellow Brits were left stunned once they spotted the Britain’s Got Talent hosts. “Everyone was very excited to see them,” she said.

“They arrived on a transfer coach from Palma airport around lunchtime, passing by the pool at about 1:30 pm. They were brilliant, exactly how you see them on the TV. They spoke to each of the children and they smiled the entire day.”

She added: “After they came out of the apartment they got in a golf buggy and drove around the resort with a few guests and asked them what they liked about the hotel, what food they liked, etc. They stayed until about 4pm and then they left. They must have been exhausted.”

Ant and Dec’s new venture comes as they said goodbye to Saturday Night Takeaway after twenty years on the air. The final episode was incredibly emotional as the lads were seen wiping tears away while they bid farewell to the ITV titan.

Giving an emotional tribute to the show on its final instalment, Dec said: “We’ve truly adored every second…what’s happened is beyond our wildest dreams.” Ant added: “This is the kind of show Dec and I watched every Saturday night growing up, so it’s been an honour and a privilege to have made this show and to have been part of your Saturday nights for over 20 years.”

Ant and Dec are not completely out of work, however, as they currently have a series of ads running with bank Santander. The duo also have a string of ITV shows in their catalogue, including Britain’s Got Talent and Limitless Win.
