BBC Breakfast viewers were left worrying about Carol Kirkwood’s appearance.
The beloved forecaster reported live from a lido in Greenwich on Monday (June 24) during the heatwave and fans were concerned for her as they noticed the skin on her chest had seemingly turned redder in the glaring sun. Viewers took to social media to urge her to slap on the suncream to avoid getting burnt.
On X – formerly Twitter – one viewer fumed: “So @carolkirkwood presenting weather heat alert on @BBCBreakfast in direct sunlight and getting sunburn on her chest? ? …. COME ON #BBCBreakfast put our lovely Carol in some shade….. SET AN EXAMPLE.”

Another wrote: “Carol is getting more pink with every weather update. Please slap on the Factor 50 #bbcbreakfast.” A third tweet read: “Carols going redder and redder as the morning goes on #bbcbreakfast.”
Another viewer added: “Oops! Carol forgot her sunscreen at the weekend.”, reports the Express. Widespread heat-health alerts have been issued for most of England.
Brits are braced to appreciate daytime temperatures soaring up to 29 degrees this week. Due to the shift of warm air heading north across the country, Brits can expect four days of sunshine.
Health alerts for scorching temperatures were given from 08:00 on Monday, 24 June and have beemn active in eight regions across the UK, namely: East Midlands, West Midlands, the North West, South East, South West, East of England, London and Yorkshire and the Humber.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and Met Office who issued the alert noted that it would particularly impact vulnerable age groups such as the 65+ age group.
Carol first joined the BBC Breakfast team back in 1997. She got married to her new partner Steve Randall last year.
