BBC Breakfast host Charlie Stayt was missing from the sofa during the latest broadcast.
Charlie can normally be seen hosting the BBC programme from Thursday to Saturday with his co-host Naga Munchetty. Viewers have become used to seeing the pair banter back and forth while discussing the latest headlines.
However, he was nowhere to be seen on Thursday morning (June 20) which meant a shake-up had to occur. Instead, Charlie’s co-star Roger Johnson stepped in to host the show with Naga.

It’s certainly not Roger’s first time presenting Breakfast as he’s been a regular presenter of the programme since 2012. He’s also stepped in to host the show when the main presenters, such as Charlie, aren’t around.
It’s not the first time Charlie has been missing from the show in recent weeks, nor is it the first time Roger stepped in to host in his absence. Roger also replaced Charlie earlier this month.
It comes after Charlie was reportedly threatened with bankruptcy after failing to pay an outstanding tax bill. Charlie, 61, and wife Anne, 58, have reportedly been asked to pay back the debt, which is believed to be around £6,409.
The source of the alleged unpaid tax comes from their TV and broadcasting firm Stayt Ltd. The company is believed to be some £6,409 in debt.
The pair were reportedly served individual petitions on Monday (June 3) requesting the money be paid back, with some of the unpaid tax stretching back to March 2023, reports The Sun.
Anne and Charlie have both been listed as directors for Stayt Limited, which has business aims stated as being television programming and broadcasting. An accountant by the name as Hogbens Dunphy Secretaries has also been named as a director.
Charlie joined Breakfast in 2006 and has been a weekend presenter for the early morning show since 2008. He often stood in for Dan Walker, who has now left the BBC for Channel 5.
