BBC presenter suffers heart attack just moments before appearing on camera in horror moment

A Bargain Hunt presenter has suffered a heart attack just minutes before he was due to film an episode of the BBC show.

Presenter John Cameron has updated fans after being rushed to the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth for emergency surgery to have a stent fitted. The heart attack last week happened just 10 minutes before being needed on camera.

The antiques expert has now reassured fans that he is doing well and recovering at home with his beloved dog after the horrifying health scare. The star took to Instagram with a snap from their hospital bed and thanked the NHS for all of their help.

“The paramedics ‘Jess’ and ‘Cat’ who transported me to Queen Alexandra Hospital with sirens blaring, and the amazing emergency team in theatre who fitted me with a stent unblocking the artery that caused me to have a heart attack just 10 minutes before I was about to film a BBC Bargain Hunt auction at my firm Nesbits in Southsea.

The Cash in the Attic star added: “Not sure how many of my 9 lives still remain but I definitely lost one yesterday. To quote the great ancient Chinese philosopher Confucius, ‘we have two lives, the second one begins when you realise you only have one.'”.

He revealed that he’ll be taking it easy from now on. “I will now be switching to a more friendly and renewable light source over the candle I have been burning at both ends! Sorry also to my wife, children, grandchildren, staff and friends for scaring the ‘Eartha Kitt’ out of them. #SupportTheNHS

On Wednesday, he gave a positive update with his followers, as well as a snap of his cute Border Terrier pup Poppy. The T-shirt he wore had an ECG heartbeat and the phrase “the beat goes on” written on it.

He wrote: “Today I will be mostly playing with Polly the Puppy. #borderterrier #supportthenhs.” John’s fans rushed to the comments to share their support.

One wrote: “Hope you are feeling better and starting to heal”. Another commented: “Get well soon John.” A third told the star: “I hope you are feeling much better, take care of yourself”
