Britain’s Got Talent was hit with a “breaking news announcement” – just minutes into the show.
The ITV show returned for another episode on Saturday night (April 27). And back on the panel were Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli who were looking for the best talent in the UK.
But just minutes in, and fans were threatening to switch off. The show started with all four judges and Ant and Dec taking part in a press Q&A.

The Q&A was hosted by children which the show described as a “breaking news announcement”. Before it took place, newsreader and Loose Women star Charlene White introduced the segment with an ITV News bulletin.
She said: “Welcome to ITV News, this series of Britain’s Got Talent has taken the nation by storm and we can now cross to hosts Ant and Dec, who alongside the judges are taking questions from the press.”
Ant said: “Welcome, ladies and gentlemen of the press.” He then asked the ‘press’: “Any questions?” before the children started quizzing the judges.
However, the segment didn’t go down well with some viewers. So much so, that they threatened to “turn off.” On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “Breaking news we don’t like all this extra s**t, just get on with the acts!”
A second fumed: “What’s this pretentious sh*t at the start of #BGT ..I’m turning over …!!” Someone else proclaimed: “Already feel like turning off, what is this?”
A fourth chimed in and penned: “Why on earth do we have to have all this faffing at the start???” A fifth echoed their thoughts and wrote: “What is this total nonsense opening the show? #BGT”
Other BGT viewers were loving the segment though. On X, one person said: “I love #BGT!! Always so much fun and NEVER boring. Pure entertainment and TV at its best.”
