Coronation Street’s Jane Hazlegrove had a huge role on a rival show years ago – and she looked totally different.
The actress shot to fame playing Bernie Winter on the ITV soap – making her debut in 2019. As the mum of Gemma and Paul, she quickly became a firm-favourite with viewers.
And it’s fair to say Bernie has had her fair share of big storylines. From Paul’s battle with MND to a recent prison stint, Bernie’s time in Weatherfield has not been short of drama.

Especially in the soap at the moment. Not only is she preparing herself for Paul’s death, but this week it will be revealed that Bernie actually has a secret child whom she put up for adoption.
However, prior to her Corrie stint, Jane appeared in a slew of TV shows including Heartbeat and Doctors. What’s more, she also had a role in BBC hospital drama Casualty.
Jane played Paramedic Kathleen ‘Dixie’ Dixon on the beloved show – first appearing back in 2006. And for a decade, Jane was a regular, making her own of the longest-serving cast members.

However, in 2016, and after starring in over 400 episodes, Jane quit the show. Dixie was known as a ‘larger than life’ character who didn’t care what people thought about her. And for this the role, Jane rocked much shorter cropped locks.
Jane also had several big storylines over the years on Casualty. Including her paramedic partnership with Jeff Collier – who was sadly killed whilst on dusty in a car explosion.

Away from ITV’S Corrie and TV screens, Jane is loved-up with her doting soap star wife Isobel Middleton. The pair tied the knot back in 2015 and have been together for over 28 years.
In 2019, the blonde beauty spoke about her relationship with the actress on Lorraine. She gushed: “She’s sensational, a really beautiful woman. I am very obsessed.”
