Coronation Street fans are convinced they have worked out Bethany Platt’s secret.
The character, played by Lucy Fallon, was a regular on the soap for five years, making her debut in 2015. However in January 2020, she dramatically quit – leaving fans gutted.
At the time, the character Bethany left for London to start a journalism career. But four years since she said her goodbyes, she has headed back.

During the soap at New Year, Bethany set foot back on the famous cobbles and ended up sleeping with ex-Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). And things soon took a rather suspicious turn.
Near the end of the programme, Bethany sneakily called an unknown person. She said: “It’s me, I withheld my number. Look, I know that I messed up but you have to give me a second chance,” to which the call then ended.
Fans have been left intrigued over what Bethany is hiding. And in episodes this week, Daniel finds Bethany engrossed while writing an article. But when he asks what it’s about – she shuts him down and acts coy.

Now viewers reckon she could be writing a piece about her serial killer uncle Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) – which would likely not go down well with her family. Fans will recall the baddie was killed off last year after a murderous rampage in Weatherfield.
On a Facebook fan page, one person mused: “She’s doing a piece on Uncle Stephen warts and all. I reckon.” A second added: “I agree, think there will be fireworks with Audrey.”

AI also thinks Bethany’s secret could be a connection to Stephen. One of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools Bard AI, said: “Some fans theorize her secret is related to her manipulative uncle Stephen, who she might be investigating for an article or trying to recover his stolen money.”
While another theory is a Bethany had a secret baby while she was away – with the dad being Daniel. The pair were a couple before she left the cobbles – and fans reckon she’s keeping the toddler hidden from him.
The theory said: “She’s got his son that he doesn’t know about.” Another fan then wondered: “His son???” Someone else added: “Maybe she has had Daniel’s baby from their first relationship.” But, could Bethany be a mum?”
