Dancing on Ice star lost her home and suffered panic attacks after death of ex

Hannah Spearritt is one of the contestants joining the newest series of Dancing On Ice, after a rough few years left her struggling.

The S Club 7 singer has shared the “triumph” of succeeding in her first Dancing On Ice rehearsal, ready for the series debut on January 14. She said: “Today’s been a triumph and a bit of a milestone because we put our first dance together.

“I couldn’t have managed this six months ago, but when you push yourself out of your comfort zone you start flying on a different plane. Now I’m noticing an increase in my energy levels and my mental health is improving too.”

Hannah shot to fame at just 17 years old, as one of the original members of pop group, S Club. The now 42-year-old went on to star in a series of iconic on-screen programmes, including Primeval, Casualty, and EastEnders.

But nothing could have prepared the Norfolk-born starlet for the difficulties she would face. Hannah began to face issues with her health in 2013.

Then 32, Hannah experienced complications after a breast implant surgery, which eventually led to an addiction to painkillers and a spell in rehab. Her health deteriorated further and her immune system worsened.

She was left exhausted by these issues, hence why she’s delighted to be feeling more energised these days. It’s meant she’s been able to rehearse for the ITV skating show, which kicks off Sunday January 14.

Around Christmas of 2022, when Hannah was dealing with an already compromised immune system, she was hit with yet another bombshell. Her and her partner, Adam Thomas, were facing homelessness.

Hannah found herself facing London’s rental crisis head-on, forced to move into a friend’s office after her landlord sold their rental property. Hannah told The Mirror: “I had a bad Christmas last year [2022] and it just snowballed.

“Quite a few things happened and I think it all affected my body. I get quite emotional about it now because I feel so much better, and when I look back over the year I realise just how much better I am.”

As if that wasn’t enough, the S Club 7 star was devastated by the death of her bandmate and ex-boyfriend, Paul Cattermole. At her wit’s end grieving Paul on top of everything else, the mother-of-two began experiencing extreme panic attacks, vertigo and fatigue.

A year on, Hannah is almost unrecognisable, and her brave choice to join Dancing On Ice seems to be paying off. She told The Mirror, “I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie so I’m excited to start the lifts and I’d like to try the headbanger.

“My pro partner Andy Buchanan is fantastic and I feel extremely safe with him. This is about transformation for me.”
